We ask that all volunteers attend an orientation (9/29) and arrive 30 minutes before their shift begins on event day.
Teams and roles
See the teams below to learn more about how you can use your skills and passions to serve those in need! Once you have found a good fit, you can join a team under the "Sign Up" tab.
The Interpretation team will work alongside the Embrace and the Medical team to ensure all guests and their families are able to participate in and feel welcomed at the event, regardless of linguistic or cultural barriers.
Dental, Vision & Medical
We want guests and their families to encounter the love of Christ not only through our hospitality, but by receiving practical aid as well. Interpreters will also be a part of this team.

Our kids' area will be a safe, fun avenue to engage the children in our community, while giving parents the freedom to engage in the services and the community provided at the event.*

Our haircare team will work with our partner, Hands of Favor, to provide our guests with free, quality hair cuts.
Photography & Videography
We are looking for photographers and videographers to document the event.
We are also looking for professional photographers who have their own equipment to take family portraits and senior pictures for families and students who would not otherwise be able to afford those services.
Greeting & Event Guides
Our greeter/event guide team (AKA The Embrace Team) is responsible for welcoming and engaging guests and their families. Team members will “adopt” families and individuals arriving at the event and navigate the event with them. Interpreters will also be a part of this team.
Parking & Safety
The Parking & Safety team will also be the “first impressions” team. They will be responsible for greeting guests as they arrive, kindly directing them to parking options, and ensuring safety throughout the event.
The Equipment team is responsible for implementing the event layout. They will also ensure all tech/equipment is set up in the right place and functioning properly in order to ensure event success.
The Transportation team ensures that those in the community who don’t have reliable transportation can still participate in Canby Cares. We will be using shuttles throughout the city to make the event accessible. *

The role of the hospitality team is to foster a welcoming atmosphere through service. By serving the guests and volunteers, the hospitality team will communicate love and value.
The Food team is works closely with the hospitality team to ensure guests and volunteers are cared for, nourished and energized throughout the day. The Food team will be preparing the food, snacks, and beverages that the hospitality team will serve throughout the day.

We want guests and their families to encounter the love of Christ not only through our hospitality, but by receiving practical aid as well.
Medical volunteers will receive breaks and snacks throughout the event. All providers are welcome to join other guests and volunteers for lunch after the event (1PM). Care will begin at 8AM on event day (9/23). All medical volunteers are asked to report to their team leads at 7:15AM for an orientation.
