Join us April 28th after second service for a Potluck and Fire Drill Fun! (For families with children age 6 and up)
Here's why we're doing it:
To train staff and volunteers that work with children.
To train those on stage speaking into the microphone.
Practice evacuation procedures.
To get to know each other!
Here's the plan:
Our plan is to have a family potluck in the Patio after the 2nd service. We will fellowship and relax a bit, then have some instruction for our Safety Drill.
After the potluck and instruction, we will disperse to our classrooms and the sanctuary as if it were Sunday morning service. We will be setting off the fire alarm to initiate the drill.
We will be evacuating everyone out to designated assembly points in the parking lot, so be sure to bring weather appropriate clothing. If you or a family member have mobility challenges, we would love to have you join us so that we can practice with you and any mobility devices you use.
We are calling it a Safety Drill, or a fire drill, to avoid instilling anything negative in our children. They are accustomed to fire drills at school, so this should be no problem for them. We just want to keep it light and fun on Safety Drill Day.
Canby Fire Department, Police Department and Clackamas County Sheriff Department are involved in the planning of this event, and intend to have a presence on the Church property on Safety Drill Day.
